Chip Clark Rejoins BIA in Newly Founded Role

Announced 26 November 2003, Charles 'Chip' Clark has rejoined the Brick Industry Association (Reston, VA, USA) as its first Director of Engineering Services. In addition to overseeing BIA's Engineering & Research (E&R) staff and activities, Chip will also direct E&R activities in a new market area next year.

"In this new role, Chip will help BIA to be more responsive to the technical requests for improving market share and safeguarding the market for clay brick," said Gregg Borchelt, Vice President, Engineering & Research.

In Chip's most recent position with the National Concrete Masonry Association (NCMA), he was responsible for promoting concrete masonry to the commercial marketplace. He oversaw the production of all commercial publications and outreach programmes, including the commercial issues of Concrete Masonry Designs and articles related to concrete masonry published in trade periodicals and other media.

Before joining NCMA, Chip Clark served as a BIA consulting engineer for three years. His work with residential and commercial projects included design, analysis, drawing and specification preparation and construction administration. As a staff engineer, he assisted in reviewing technical articles on concrete masonry construction, responded to industry inquiries and led plan reviews and site investigations to ensure quality concrete masonry construction.
