First PH 4600 Tile Press of the Power Series installed in Brazil

The first high force PH 4600 tile press from Sacmi (Imola, BO, Italy) to be installed in Brazil will allow the Brazilian ceramic firm Gyotoku to produce up to 300,000 square metres of technical porcelain tile a month as opposed to the current 150,000 square metres.

The machine in question is a model in the Power Series, ideal for large and ultra-large sizes of ceramic tile. The main features of the press purchased by the Brazilian company are a pressing force of 4600 tons, an inter-column clearance of 1750mm and a maximum mobile crossbeam stroke of 180mm. It should also be pointed out that the press matches the speed of the Series 2000 machines while offering large tile production capacity (fired tiles up to 1000mm x 1000mm).

With this new press Gyotoku – based in Suzano in the state of Sao Paolo – has set its sights on winning yet another slice of the South American market by making 40cm x 40cm, 45cm x 45cm and 60cm x 60cm tiles with special aesthetic characteristics that mimic the effect of natural stone.
