John Marlay Joins Board of Boral Limited
The Chairman of Boral, Dr Ken Moss, has announced that John Marlay has been appointed as a non-executive Director of Boral Limited. The appointment of a new director to replace John Cloney (who retired at the 2009 Annual General Meeting) was foreshadowed at the Annual General Meeting.
Mr Marlay has a Bachelor of Science degree and has completed management studies at the University of Virginia. He has had a distinguished career in the building and construction materials sector in Australia and overseas, including six years as the CEO of Alumina Limited from 2002 to 2008.
John Marlay has also held senior roles with Hanson PLC in the UK, Pioneer International in the UK and Australia and James Hardie Industries in Australia. He is a non-executive Director of Incitec Pivot Limited.
Dr Moss said: “John Marlay’s broad operational and CEO experience in the industries in which Boral operates, together with his experience in international businesses and managing capital intensive joint ventures will be particularly valuable to the Boral Board”.
