Construction Products Association Network Club tackles blame culture

The Construction Products Association through its new Network Club is seeking to end the blame culture within the construction industry. Following its last meeting attended by representatives from across the supply chain, Rita Singh, Policy Development Executive said, "The Club provides an ideal forum to address these issues. It will enable us to eliminate those working practices that prevent innovation and best practice".

The outcome of the discussions emphasised the need for cultural change within the whole construction industry, Singh said, "The Network Club has a crucial part to play in developing solutions and bringing together the relevant sectors to highlight concerns and find the best answers through an integrated approach".

Association members recognised that there is a significant role to be played by manufacturers and suppliers in ensuring the success of the industry as a whole. In particular, regarding the development of innovative products and promoting them through the supply-chain, establishing closer working relationships between manufacturers and suppliers with architects, contractors and clients as well as providing a commitment to take the lead in demonstration projects.
