American Technical Ceramics Launches High Power Resistive Products

American Technical Ceramics Corp., a Huntington Station-based manufacturer of RF and microwave ceramic capacitors, has announced the official launch of its new line of high power resistive products designed for microwave and RF applications. The new products, which include resistors, terminations and attenuators, represent ATC's entry into the resistive products market.

Victor Insetta, Chief Executive Officer of the Company, stated that "by adding a line of resistive products, we are supplementing our traditional line of capacitors with another key family of passive components designed to fit our customers' needs. Our resistive products target the same markets as our capacitors - wireless, medical electronics, space and military - permitting us to leverage our strong relationships with leading manufacturers. Further, by offering these complementary technologies, we help our existing customers to simplify their design and ordering processes and provide a single source for capacitors and resistors for a wide range of applications involving the generation, amplification, control and transmission of RF and microwave energy at high power levels.

"For over thirty years, our customers have turned to ATC because of our reputation for providing top quality capacitors. We're confident that our new resistors, terminations and attenuators will meet the same high standards our customers have come to expect."

ATC began sampling its new resistive products with customers in June, 2000, following an extensive testing process. The high power resistors, terminations and attenuators are made using non-toxic aluminum nitride base substrates and feature low capacitance and low VSWR. The power ratings range from .1 to 1000 watts, and the frequency ranges from DC to 40 GHZ. The products, which are in production at ATC's Jacksonville, Florida facility, are ready for shipment and are being offered in tape and reel packaging.
