Termez Brick Plant Launches New Production Lines

The Termez Brick Plant in Uzbekistan continues to launch new production lines. Previously it used to produce only one type of construction material, fired brick. After a long break during the years of economic stagnation, the enterprise gradually recovered. Lately, the production volume has grown substantially and so has the range of the products manufactured by the plant.

Today the products of TermizGisht LLC are in high demand in the local market. In the last few months the plant produced over 1.2 million bricks, representing around US$90,000 in revenues. The capacity of the enterprise allows it to produce up to 1 million bricks a month. However, the company is now facing some new competitors – numerous mini-enterprises and workshops.

TermizGisht has therefore diversified its activity and now produces other goods that are equally popular in the market. Today the enterprise has three new workshops. The first of them specialises in the production of ceramic products for pavements and squares. The production line was launched about eight years ago. It now produces around 25,000 square metres of ready goods.

Another new type of construction material manufactured by the plant is clay roof tile. Every year the plant produces up to 3,500 square metres, although the capacity of the workshop, where currently six people are employed, is 10 times higher than this.

Another workshop recently launched at TermizGisht is specialised in the production of ferroconcrete products. In the near future the company is planning to launch yet another, fifth workshop to specialise in manufacturing of roof tiles from PET and sand.

According to the five-year plan of this region's development, the construction of housing and other projects, including squares and parks, is set to rise in Termez and this promises new orders for the plant. Moreover, the administration of the company is planning to expand its market to the neighbouring regions of Uzbekistan.
