Taylor, Tunnicliff Ltd. is introducing a new range of pyrometric devices

Taylor, Tunnicliff Ltd. is introducing a new range of pyrometric devices to compliment their existing products, Bullers Rings and Bullers Bars. This new range, called Bullers Discs, comprises two types of shrinkage device, which will cover firing temperatures from 1350oC to 1550oC, and from 1500oC to 1750oC.

As with Bullers Rings, the measurement of "heat-work" achieved during firing is related to the shrinkage of the Bullers Discs, and is evaluated by the well tried and tested Bullers system of using a series of numbers to describe firings. The shrinkage of the discs is rapidly measured by means of a simple gauge with a direct number reading. Thus the advantages of a quick, reliable and easily used system which has been enjoyed by the whitewares and heavy clay industries world-wide for the last century are now available to other sectors of the ceramic industry. Although primarily aimed at the technical ceramics industry, where the disc diameter of only 20mm means that they take up little space, they will be equally useful in the firing of hard paste porcelain and refractories.

Bullers Discs and their measuring gauge, will be exhibited for the first time at Ceramitec 2000, on Stand No. 103 in Hall 2A, together with Taylor, Tunnicliff's other pyrometric devices.
