Shenango Advanced Ceramics Plans Upgrades
Industrial Heating (www.industrialheating.com) reports that Shenango Advanced Ceramics (New Castle, PA, USA) has received US$557,000 from the state of Pennsylvania to upgrade its existing New Castle plant. The money received will allow Shenango to create 19 new jobs and retain 22 existing employees.
Shenango recently completed the rebuild of its largest cordierite refractories kiln, built a new nitrogen atmosphere kiln and introduced a high purity silicon carbide product to its range.
Major expansions of the silicon carbide production areas are also underway to improve efficiency and to reduce cycle times to meet growing demand.
