Kilns for Major Sanitaryware Project in Portugal

Keramischer OFENBAU GmbH, the German kiln manufacturer, has announced that it has succeeded in putting into operation kilns for a sanitaryware production plant in Portugal. This plant has been completely designed with pressure casting, high level of automation and continuous product tracking.

At full production, 1.2 million pieces per year of sanitaryware can be manufactured at the plant. An 85 metre-long tunnel kiln for first firing and a shuttle kiln for re-firing are already in operation. For the second extension stage, two kilns of the same types will follow.

Keramischer OFENBAU stated: "The plant - which was built in excellent cooperation with the customer and all involved plant manufacturers from Germany, Italy and Portugal - is considered to be one of the world's highly advanced sanitary production plants in Europe".
