German Roof Tile Producer Orders New Pre-Dryer and Tunnel Kiln

Bayerischer Dachziegelwerke Bogen GmbH (Bogen, Germany) has ordered a new tunnel kiln plant from the German kiln builder Keramischer OFENBAU GmbH (Hildesheim, Germany).

The contract has been placed to enable Dachziegelwerke Bogen to improve its capacity. The modern 95 metre-long tunnel kiln will be able to fire 2.8 million accessory roof tiles per annum, with a high percentage of glazed and engobed surfaces.

Keramischer OFENBAU says it clinched the deal by convincing the customer with its presentation of a new concept for the atmospheric control. Additionally, the extremely light SiSiC car superstructure is said to contribute significantly to lowering the energy costs.

The scope of supply in this contract comprises:

* Pre-dryer plus tunnel kiln with 3.2 metre setting width and 95 metre length.
* 82 kiln cars with light SiSiC superstructure.
* Kiln car transport system.
* Control system with product tracking.
* Turnkey erection of the complete plant.

The cycle time for the new tunnel kiln is 14 hours cold to cold.
