Rendell Administration Investments Help Lenox Consolidate and Relocate

Pennsylvania has invested US$1.3 million to support Lenox Brands in its relocation and consolidation of some existing operations to Bristol, Bucks County, said Governor's Action Team Director Daniel Wheeler on 27 July 2006.

The company is creating and retaining more than 470 jobs, Wheeler added. The jobs include corporate operations being moved from New Jersey.

"The state's support of this project is part of the reason why we're all standing here today," Wheeler said during Lenox's grand opening ceremony in Bristol. Governor Rendell is thrilled with the progress that Lenox has already achieved by filling 162 of the 187 jobs it committed to creating earlier this year.

"This is the type of targeted economic development investment the commonwealth has made under Governor Rendell's leadership to support business growth and expansion throughout Pennsylvania. These investments are helping to revive communities and bolster our economy."

On 17 January 2006, Governor Rendell announced the state's US$1.3 million investment to support Lenox's move and consolidation of its corporate operations from sites in Lawrenceville, NJ and Langhorne, PA, to the Island View Crossing office complex in Bristol. The company has leased 126,000 square feet of office space for 12 years at the former Dial Soap factory, which was redeveloped as part of the Bristol revitalisation programme.

"We are thrilled to finally be able to bring our two facilities under one roof," said Lenox Group Inc Chairwoman and CEO Susan Engel. "We worked extremely hard to create a work environment that is friendly, open and promotes teamwork among employees. I think we will find that both our efficiencies and productivity will greatly increase in our new space."

Lenox Group Inc is a leader in quality tabletop, collectibles and giftware. The company markets its products primarily under the Department 56, Lenox, Dansk and Gorham brands. The company sells its products through wholesale customers who operate gift, specialty and department store locations in the USA and Canada, as well as through company-operated retail stores, direct mail, catalogue, Internet and international distributors.
