Success for Dalian Refractories Symposium
'China's Refractories' has reported on the successful staging earlier in the year of the 4th International Symposium on Refractories in Dalian, PR China. Nearly 190 delegates attended the symposium, 62 of them coming from outside China - from Austria, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Iran, Japan, Korea, Norway, Russia, Singapore, UK, USA and Ukraine. A total of 88 papers were received and 75 of them were presented at the symposium.
Zhang Renwei, the President of the China Building Materials Industry Association, presided over the opening ceremony. Chairman of the symposium, Professor Zhong Xiangchong, gave the opening speech on 'Thoughts on Strategic Development of China's Refractories Industry'. Six invited lectures were given at the plenary meeting held on the first day.
The plenary lecturers included internationally known figures in the ceramic industry from Japan, Canada, Korea and China itself.
