Porvair announces first Pressure Casting System sale to Mainland China

Porvair Ceramics Ltd (King's Lynn, Norfolk, England), the manufacturer of microporous moulds and associated equipment for use in the sanitaryware and tableware sectors, has announced the first sale of a pressure casting system to mainland China.

The order, which is for Porvair's recently introduced PC570 pressure casting system, is from Imperial Bathroom Products of Guangdong in PR China. The contract includes the supply of mould design, machine installation and commissioning and on-going technical support and assistance.

Initially, the system will be used by Imperial specifically for drop-in basin production but the flexibility of the system means that it can be used for most types of sanitaryware, such as pedestals, covers and lavatory basins.

Based on extensive customer feedback, the PC570 has been value engineered from the original machine. This allows quicker and easier construction, enabling reduced delivery times. Design improvements include a new steel support structure, a new mould mounting and handling system and an improved slip supply system. In addition, the PC570 is said to be flexible. It can be supplied as a multi-mould machine or it can be supplied in a modular format. It can also be manually operated in terms of commencing casting, mould opening and demoulding of ware, or it can be fully automatic.

Imperial Bathroom Products, reports Porvair, was particularly impressed by the PC570's superior quality product, ease of operation, high output, improved yields and low cost production.

"We are particularly excited to have won this first order in mainland China," said Andrew Dahl, marketing director of Porvair Ceramics. "We are confident that the on-going service support and technical expertise which we will provide to Imperial will act as a successful demonstration unit, opening the door to the enormous potential market for the PC570 in mainland China."
