National Measurement Conference


The National Measurement Conference (NMC) will take place from 6-8 November 2001 at the Majestic Hotel, Harrogate, North Yorks, England. With an expected attendance of 1,000 delegates, this conference is said to offer a unique opportunity for participants to network with colleagues in the measurement industry. Alongside the technical sessions, there will be an exhibition of measurement providers, instrument suppliers and accredited calibration laboratories. A series of parallel sessions will be run during the conference addressing common issues of interest to participants.

One focus of the NMC is the DTI supported Materials Measurement programmes. There will be two main sessions on materials measurement: Life Performance and Smart Materials. Additional sessions that will be of interest to anyone using materials are: Dimensional Measurement; Mass-Spec for Life Sciences; and Models for Measurement and Their Validation.

A series of workshops and seminars will be run during the conference addressing issues of interest to participants, such as calculation of uncertainties, good practice and contracting issues.
