Strong Order Intake in Nextrom Fibre Activity
Nextrom Holding SA (Ecublens, Switzerland) - a premier supplier of manufacturing solutions and services to the optical fibre/fibre optic cable, wire and cable, pipe and film industries, has announced that it has continued to experience a good order intake during the second quarter of 2001 in its Fibre Optic activities.
In this business segment, the cumulative order intake from April to June 2001 amounted to CHF (Swiss Francs) 88 million. As a result, the total order intake from Fibre activities for the first half-year 2001 reached CHF 165 million. This represents an increase of 77% compared to the CHF 93 million order intake during the same period last year.
The cumulative order intake for the first six-month period in Nextrom's other business segments amounted to CHF 88 million.
The positive developments in the Fibre Optics business segment, adds the company, confirm its expectations to return to profitability in 2001.
