C5 Medical Werks Reaches Million Mark in Components Shipped


C5 Medical Werks (Denver, CO, USA), a manufacturer of high-quality ceramics for the medical device industry, has announced that, in June 2008, the company shipped its one millionth ceramic implantable component based on unit shipments to the orthopaedic, brachytherapy and electro-implantable market segments.

The company’s state-of-the-art facility, located in Grand Junction, CO, USA, produces ceramic components and assemblies for hip and knee joints, motion preservation/total disc replacement components used in spine surgery, as well as seeds for brachytherapy. Additional medical grade ceramic implantables include crowns, bridges, abutments and implants for dental applications and electro-implantable devices such as cochlear implants, neuro-stimulators and neuro-sensors.
