Sacmi Automation’s New Sorting Division at Ceramica Marazzi

Sacmi Automation has supplied the Marazzi Group with its latest technical ground granite plant, which includes an innovative sorting and palletising line.

This line - a Global model with double-arm stackers characterised by extreme flexibility - was recently installed and started up at the longstanding Marazzi factory in Sassuolo (MO, Italy). The range of producible sizes is quite broad and for most sizes this packaging technology allows the customer to choose from wrap-around or tray-type packaging; non-packaged stacks can also be simultaneously sent for palletisation.

The double packaging machine uses a new system for closing boxes containing medium-large sized tiles with mechanical rests, which can be quickly adapted to the tile size thus ensuring long-term consistency and precision of the operating cycle, resulting in performance continuity and low maintenance.

As with the Master single-arm line, the Global sorting line directly extracts the pieces from the side conveyor belts to the stackers, each one of which is activated by a single inverter-controlled AC motor. Classic and highly-regarded features of these stacking dynamics include speed (it is claimed to be the fastest in its category in terms of pieces per minute) and operating silence.

Sacmi Automation’s best seller completes the division: the Pick Up Palletiser is particularly suited to heavier tasks, thanks to its solidity and the level of improvements attained.
