Video Conferencing to Feature in Limoges Ceramic Conference


During CERAMIC NETWORK 2002 - taking place in Limoges, France from 16-18 October 2002 - there will be three days of conferences, technical meetings and exhibitions.

It has been confirmed that the first conference will be entitled 'The Revival of Fine Tableware: How companies and designers take into consideration the developments of methods of consumption and new food practices'.

The speakers will be: Mr Roure (Haviland), Mr Fady (Imerys Tableware), Bernardo Vasconcelas e Suza and Filipe Alarcao (Vista Alegre). This debate will be chaired by Jeanne Queheillard, critic and professor and will take place in video-conference with Stoke-on-Trent to allow British companies to participate in the debate. This is on 17 October, commencing at 11am.

The second conference is part of the 4th Annual Technical Day of 'Limousin Technologie' on ceramic processes on the theme 'Design Tools: what benefit for the porcelain and sanitaryware industries?' The conference will present new design tools and users' experience. Sébastien Daneels, a researcher at the Hothouse Ceramic Design Centre in Stoke-on-Trent, will present a paper on 'Applications of New Technologies in the Traditional Ceramics Industry in Great Britain'.
