Kiln Insight Software
'Insight' software is the latest software package developed by Datapaq Ltd (Cambridge, England) specifically to meet the temperature profiling needs of the ceramic industry. It is said to combine powerful analysis tools with real-time functionality and is now wizard-based for ease of use. Insight software converts the data collected during the run into the information required to improve the firing process.
Datapaq decided to create 'Wizards' to guide users step-by-step through the major software functions while giving them the opportunity to 'back up' to the previous step if they realise they have made a mistake. Wizards also cut down on training requirements.
Key to the analysis is a complete record of the time at temperature reached by each of the probes during the run. Dedicated calculations also monitor the quality of heating and cooling across the Quartz Inversion Point, while 'Mimic Positioning' shows the exact position of burners and fans in relation to the profile. Insight software can also be used in real time with a Kiln Telemetry system.
Insight is the newest component of a Kiln Tracker system. Each system comprises a Tpaq21 data logger (capable of recording up to 130,000 data readings), a thermal barrier and thermocouples.
