Chinese Manufacturer Introduces Anti-Bacterial Surface for Ceramic Tableware

Karpery Industrial Co Ltd - with bases in Liling and Shenzhen in PR China - has come up with a high tech product that it has designated 'Germ-Killer Ceramic'. It is looking to authorise agents for this product.

The company states: "In everyday life, the bacteria caused by the dining tableware have been directly damaging people's health for a long time. Especially in public catering, event the use of a disinfecting box (disinfector) to kill bacteria at high temperature cannot completely kill them".

After several years of research efforts, Karpery has developed 'Germ-Killer Ceramic' which it says can kill bacteria attached to the surface of tableware by employing a photo-thermal effect and using the photo-catalysis theory of the ceramic product surface to produce electron, electron hole and electronegativity from its surface ion so as to kill the bacteria.

The company says that this technique is especially effective in killing bacillus coli and infectious bacteria. The product is claimed to kill surface bacteria and hinder their reproduction, so providing an important element of protection in the field of tableware hygiene.
