International Ceramic Fair in Jingdezhen

The First International Ceramic Fair will take place in Jingdezhen, Jiangxi Province, PR China from 12-18 October 2004. According to the organising body, Jingdezhen Heng-Bo Ceramic Exhibition Ltd, numerous international prominent guests, porcelain manufacturers, related suppliers and buyers have agreed to attend.

Jingdezhen, a city of 1.5 million people (out of 42 million people in Jiangxi Province), is known as the Capital of Porcelain in China and 2004 is the 1,000th anniversary of the city being established as the porcelain manufacturing city in China.

The organiser said that with the outlook of booming development of the Chinese economy and massive inland market demand, it believed that no-one could ignore the development of the Chinese ceramic industry and market.

The exhibition is being divided into several themes:

• International exquisite brands: Manufacturers of fine porcelain and well-known brands.
  
  
• Domestic trade of high volume: Thousands of domestic manufacturers are located in this section, which targets buyers from all continents.
  
  
• Exhibition masterpieces: Ceramic masters as well as emerging young artists are invited to hold personal exhibitions.
  
  
• Award ceremony: At the end of the fair, the China Light Industry Federation will bestow awards upon people contributing to the ceramic arts and industry.
  
  The venue for the event is the China Ceramic City and China House which will provide 2,000 showrooms covering 230,000 square metres.
