International Conference on Ferrites Returns to USA

The International Advisory Committee and the US Organizing Committee have announced that for the second time in its history, the International Conference on Ferrites will be held in San Francisco, CA, USA. The last time that this conference was held in the USA was back in 1984.

The ICF 9 conference will be hosted by the American Ceramic Society (ACerS) from 22-27 August 2004 at the Cathedral Hill Hotel. ICF 9 is sponsored by the Japan Society of Powder & Powder Metallurgy, endorsed by the American Physical Society and has the IEEE Magnetics Society as a cooperating sponsor. The International Magnetics Association is co-sponsoring a special symposium on ferrite applications.

ICF 9 will cover all areas of basic science and technology for ferrites and related materials. Special emphasis will be placed on advanced findings and emerging technologies that are expected to open up new horizons for ferrites in the 21st century. More than 200 presentations will be made. A tour of the Advanced Light Source at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory is also planned.

There will additionally be a tabletop exhibit providing exhibitors with the opportunity to meet face-to-face with professionals involved in the research, engineering and manufacture of magnetic ceramics.
