Eriez Show Rolls on to Adriatic Coast

In what has turned out to be one of its busiest ever years for exhibitions, Eriez Magnetics Europe Ltd (Bedwas, Caerphilly, South Wales) is now turning its attention to Tecnargilla, the 20th International Exhibition of Technology & Supplies for the Ceramic and Brick Industries. The company will be exhibiting alongside its Italian agent, Righini Industrial Division Srl of Grugliasco (Torino), on a stand covering around 25 sq.m (Hall A3, Stand 161).

A major feature of the company’s line-up will be the HI Filter and this fully automatic, high intensity wet separation system has already been successfully installed within the Italian ceramic industry. The HI Filter has made its mark with proven performance, enhanced product quality and reduced losses, adds the company. Its processing superiority, whether that be on feldspars, slip or glaze, makes it an important tool in a highly competitive global market and with leading producers such as Kalebodur, Villeroy & Boch and Porcelanosa already employing machines from the HI range on their lines, it comes with the highest calibre of recommendation.

Another type of system which constantly proves popular, not only in the various ceramic producing sectors but also in the wider minerals processing field, is that based on the Rare Earth (RE) Roll technology. At Tecnargilla 2006, Eriez will demonstrate an RE Roll 100-5-1 Rare Earth Magnetic Separator. Visitors to the stand will be able to see from the operation of this laboratory scale unit, the dynamics of the magnetic roll separation principle.

RE Rolls are high intensity, high gradient separators used for significantly reducing fine, weakly magnetic iron impurities in raw material minerals such as feldspar. Unlike some of the competition in this area, Eriez offers a full choice of diameters and feed widths to cater for different throughputs. Its machines also offer the improved, cantilever style quick-change belt facility.

Through both technological advancement and by acquisition, the Eriez Magnetics European manufacturing centre in the UK has become a key player in the field of metal detection. Clearly with a crucial part to play in ceramics, refractories and allied industries, this much enhanced range will be represented by a METALARM 3500 Metal Detector.

These highly sensitive, high performance detectors can easily be fitted (including retrofitting) to both belt and vibratory conveyors and feature signal monitoring and self-checking facilities allied to audible alarms and, where required, the optional addition of visible alarms.

A wide range of coils is manufactured for use with the 3000 metal detector range and these can be fitted to virtually any type of conveyor in ducts, slides etc. All coils are manufactured in high density polyethylene and are fully screened to comply with European Union EMC regulations. This range drew particular interest from the industry at the Ceramitec exhibition in Munich earlier in the year and the company’s technical sales team is looking forward to going through the finer points of the METALARM range with the visitors to Rimini.

Showing for the first time to an Italian audience will be the XtremeTM Rare Earth (RE) Tube Magnet circuit. This recently developed tube magnet has a massive 40% more pulling strength than standard RE tube magnets on the market today and users are also likely to find it up to 300% stronger than some of the older magnets still employed on ceramic plants and really struggling to keep the process flow clear of metal contamination, states Eriez.

This addition to the Eriez portfolio will be championed by Captain Xtreme, an unusual and colourful member of the team who proves that when it comes to putting in the pulling power, actions speak louder than words. His larger than life presence emphasises the strength behind the name.

Rounding off the range of equipment on display will be a Ceramic Magnetic Trap (CMT5 type), Ferrite Tube Magnet, Rare Earth Plate Magnet and Rare Earth Grate.

Visitors from all sectors will be able to discuss the removal from their process lines of everything from tramp iron down to micron-size paramagnetic particles, in addition to arranging for testing of their samples on the various pieces of pilot plant that Eriez operates in its state-of-the-art laboratory in South Wales.

Hall A3 is in the main body of the exhibition, situated to the left of the South Entrance, and a warm welcome awaits all ceramic plant technicians, production chiefs and executives. Eriez Magnetics Europe will be delighted to accommodate pre-arranged meetings. Please call 029 2086 8501 or e-mail info@eriezeurope.co.uk
