Sanitaryware Convention Scheduled for September
The 3rd Convention on Technological Trends in the Sanitaryware Industry is to be held on 30 September 2004 at Sacmi's congress room at its HQ in Imola, BO, Italy. In addition to the managers of Sacmi Whiteware division, the convention will also be attended by some of the world's leading specialists in this field from universities and research centres in Europe and America.The day's programme of events begins in the morning when the guests are received and given a guided tour around Sacmi's laboratory. Here they can meet the staff of the Whiteware division's Research & Development department, gain a preview of the company's new products and watch high pressure casting tests.
Later on, following a buffet lunch, Eugenio Ferragina - General Manager of the Whiteware Division - will give a speech to open the actual convention. The following themes will be discussed:
* Body design for pressure cast production (Peter Hancock, Stoke-on-Trent, England).
* Interiors, bathrooms, sanitarywares: trends from an Italian design manufacturer (Albert Alessi, Alessi SpA, Italy).
* Using the glass formation boundary to assist in vitreous china body development (William Carty, NY State College of Ceramics at Alfred University, NY, USA).
* Far East: new industrial dynamics (Patrizio Bianchi and Giorgio Prodi, University of Ferrara, Italy).
* The world market for sanitaryware (Javier Castillo, BSRIA).
