Elmeceram buy-out

Elmeceram (Oradour, France) has announced the acquisition of both Elmeceram SA, located in France and Elmeceram (UK) Ltd in Stoke-on-Trent. The acquisition has been made by an industrial consortium headed by current managing director, Don Jones.

Part of the failed Flare Group since September 1997, Elmeceram has continued its development and remained profitable despite difficulties of Flare. The acquisition, for an undisclosed sum, will say the buyers certainly enable Elmeceram to continue that development and the company's world-wide reputation.

Don Jones commented: "This is superb news for Elmeceram, our employees and our customers. The last few months have been a difficult time due to the uncertainty created by the Administration of Flare, but the support we have received, and in particular from our customers, has been tremendous. They have clearly demonstrated their confidence in Elmeceram, which we can now repay by continuing our strategy of innovation and service to the ceramic industry".
