Custom Processing Expands Into Coarse Materials

Custom Processing Services has purchased the materials processing plant in East Greenville, PA, USA formerly known as AMSAT. The newly acquired plant offers coarse processing, pulverising and flash drying of minerals and a variety of other substances.

This will supplement Custom Processing's micronising and ultra-fine air jet milling services, which are provided in its Reading (PA, USA) plants. The addition of the 70,000 square foot manufacturing facility located on 12 acres in East Greenville (a 40-minute drive from Reading) will expand the company's capabilities into coarser grades of material and permit clients to rely on CPS to process minerals from a raw material state down to particle sizes in the micron and sub-micron ranges. Custom Processing Services can now provide a unique single source alternative to its clients in the chemical and bulk powder industries.

The new facility also features a private rail siding which will enable delivery of rail car loads of material to CPS, saving freight transportation costs for Custom Processing Services' customers. After the materials are pulverised in East Greenville, they can be transported to CPS's Reading plants by an affiliated trucking firm, Birchmont Transport. This creates ease of scheduling and hassle free material movement from one processing site to another. Custom Processing can ship directly from either location using Birchmont Transport or any common carriers. The company can also ship containers for international destinations.

“Custom Processing Services can truly provide a smart supply chain solution to better address customers' evolving needs,” commented William Lavelle Jr, Vice President.
