City & Guilds Recognises Outstanding Ceramicists

City & Guilds, the UK's largest awarding body, has awarded prestigious Medals for Excellence to five candidates who have triumphed in their City & Guilds ceramics qualifications. The talented group were awarded their medals at a recent ceremony held in London.

Medals for Excellence are awarded annually to candidates throughout the UK and Ireland who have displayed exceptional standards in a City & Guilds qualification. These medals are a mark of special distinction and a source of pride for the medallists and those who have taught and trained them.

Last year over 70,000 people registered for a City & Guilds qualification and only 170 medals for excellence have been awarded in various sectors. The winners in the field of ceramics were:

Lindy Ford Creative Skills Certificate - Ceramic Restoration Richmond Adult & Community College

Gerard Kay Creative Skills Certificate - Ceramics Wensum Lodge & East Norwich Adult Education

Rose Wallace Creative Studies Ceramics Part 1 Oxford College of Further Education

Louise Warner Creative Studies Ceramics Part 1 Oaklands College, St Albans
