Chinese install Dutch magnets

Goudsmit Magnetic Systems (Waalre, Holland) has recently supplied the Formosa Plastic Company (FPC) of Taiwan with a number of magnetic overbelt systems. These magnets are used for the removal of iron particles from raw materials. A few months ago, FPC commenced construction of a power station in Mai-Liao, on the west coast of Taiwan. The plant itself is being built on a 210-hectare hydraulic-fill site.

Furthermore, in Xiamen in PR China, the Hua Yang Power Company simultaneously commenced construction - under the supervision of FPC - of a coal-fired power station that houses five turbines. Goudsmit also supplied the magnetic separators for this project.

The order comprises a total of 14 electromagnetic overbelt systems: 11 with a capacity of 16kW for PR China and three 7.6kW models for Taiwan. These oil-cooled magnets are all fitted with self-cleaning belt systems. They are suitable for installation above conveyor belts varying in breadth from 1200mm to 1600mm. Furthermore, the 14 magnets feature individual electronic control systems, which are also linked to the plant control system.
