Channel Technologies Forms New, Streamlined Company

Channel Technologies Inc (Santa Barbara, CA, USA) – or CTI –  says that it will integrate Channel Industries Inc (CII), International Transducer Corporation Inc (ITC) and Sonatech Inc (STI) as divisions under the newly formed Channel Technologies Group (CTG) effective 1 September 2009.

Under the new organisation, CTG will continue to provide high quality piezoceramic, transducer and underwater acoustic products with lower overhead costs and will increase production capabilities that will enable CTG to enter new markets.

“With our new vertically integrated organization, we will be able to devote more time and energy developing premier solutions for our customers,” explained Apieh Claybrook, President of Channel Technologies Inc. “These three companies will enhance their efforts to continue to provide first rate products and excellent customer service at competitive prices.”

Kevin Ruelas, who currently leads ITC and STI, will become President of CTG and direct these divisions to new opportunities in this dynamic industry. Mr Ruelas comes to CTG with two decades of management experience, where he conducted business in more than 40 countries helping companies manage strategic growth. CTG will be headquartered in Santa Barbara, CA, USA.

“For the past 50 years, CTI has succeeded because it has given our customers the quality products they need at the right price,” said Mr Ruelas. “These companies have been naturally interrelated since their inception and we are building a stronger company that will let us grow for another 50 years.”

CTI will continue to provide combined corporate services to Channel Technologies Group, as well as Electro-Optical Industries Inc (EOI) and Ohio-based Channel Products Inc (CPI). The consolidation of the businesses allows EOI and CPI to focus on their respective markets and improve their performance as part of the Channel Technologies Inc family of companies.

Channel Industries began in Santa Barbara in 1959 and quickly became a leader in piezoceramic technologies. The company evolved into multiple companies which have served a diverse array of customers. CTG will continue the tradition of leadership in piezoceramics by positioning them to meet the needs of new customer markets.
