Malaysian Show Off to Flying Start

Turret RAI has announced that its CeramAsia 2002 exhibition - scheduled for 19-21 March 2002 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - has over 30% of the show space booked up. The event is the third in a series of shows aimed at bringing overseas technology, products and services for the ceramics industry operating in the markets of South-East Asia. Evidence of this, says Turret, is that driven by an ambitious construction industry, the Malaysian economy itself is again forecast to grow at a rate of 8.5% next year and double-digit levels within the next five years.

Show manager John Lane is quick to acknowledge the excellent support that he is receiving from a number of Malaysian organisations when assessing the success of the vent thus far: "Everyone we have spoken to about the project - from the Malaysian Industrial Development Authority through to Malaysia Airlines - has been enthusiastic and helpful. Both the State and Federal Governments have welcomed our initiative and offered to assist us in any way they can."

According to Lane, with economic stability returning to the region, countries like Thailand and the Philippines are also looking to the ceramics sector as part of their future developments, particularly in the context of the construction industry. He feels therefore that these factors will make the CeramAsia 2002 show a target for the ceramic industry visitors from many parts of South-East Asia and not just the national market.

To make it even easier for potential exhibitors, conference delegates and show visitors to obtain the fullest possible information on the event, John Lane announced at the same time that a newly developed and dedicated website has gone live. It provides details of current exhibitors, stand space availability, the conference programme, venue and hotel details, and travel arrangements as well as introducing a 'Latest News' page which will ensure that late-breaking developments are continuously broadcast to all interested parties. Through this website, both stand bookings and conference delegate registrations will be available on-line.
