Ceradyne, Inc. Opens European Office
Ceradyne, Inc. has opened a European Sales and Marketing office located in England and headed by Ceradyne's newly appointed European Marketing Director, Mr. Eddie Belfield.
Ceradyne established this office as part of its strategic plan designed to take a more proactive role in the growing European market for advanced technical ceramics. The Company's intent is to coordinate all European sales and marketing activities of its advanced ceramic group, including lightweight ceramic armor, through its Tenbury Wells, United Kingdom office. Under Mr. Belfield's management, Ceradyne will be establishing a marketing presence in Western Europe.
Eddie Belfield joins Ceradyne with over 30 years in the field of advanced technical ceramics for a wide variety of industrial applications requiring robust structural ceramics. A major focus through the years has been Mr. Belfield's dedication to the development, manufacturing and marketing of silicon nitride, the leading state-of-the-art technical ceramic for structural uses.
After graduating B. Sc.(Hons) Chemistry from the University of London (1968), Mr. Belfield joined the British Ceramic Research Association as Scientific Officer before joining the ceramic development team of Leyland Gas Turbines. Most recently he served as General Manager, Advanced Materials Engineering Division, Morgan Matroc Ltd., a British producer of technical ceramics.
John Mangels, Ceradyne's Director of Sales and Marketing, commented: "Ceradyne needed an 'on the ground' presence in Europe. Eddie's background, particularly in silicon nitride, fits Ceradyne's advanced ceramic group's capabilities perfectly".
