Sicocer Pigments Headline BASF Presentation

BASF AG (Ludwigshafen, Germany) will use its new, fine pigments for rotary printing in the tile sector and its high colour strength zirconium coral pigment for transparent glazes to headline its presentation at Ceramitec.

For rotary printing, visitors will be able to see four Sicocer F pigments which the company says make accessible the widest possible colour space for new levels of creativity in tile design. "These very finely divided Sicocer F pigments with their extraordinary color strength are eminently suitable for transparent glazes," commented the company.

With the F Red 2360, BASF has been able to expand its product line of top grade zirconium coral pigments with a bluish pigment. Pure shade and high colour strength are what are claimed to distinguish this finely divided pigment and making them ideal prerequisites for achieving intensive shades, especially in transparent glazes.

BASF will also take the opportunity to present its product line of base decorative colours, which can be used for onglaze, inglaze or underglaze decoration of porcelain.

In 2002, BASF recorded sales of around €32 billion and employed over 89,000 people world-wide. Specialities comprise pigments, preparations and dyes, binders, crosslinkers and additives and BASF is counted as one of the three world leading manufacturers of these products.
