Ceramic Machinery Manufacturer Expands Export Base Into Bangladesh

Britech Industries Ltd (Stoke-on-Trent, Staffs, England) has just sealed a new business contract in Bangladesh worth £650,000, after receiving help from Trade Partners UK - the government organisation that provides support services for UK companies trading overseas.

Britech Industries makes ceramic manufacturing machines and this contract will allow its new customer in Bangladesh to expand, as well as benefit from a renovation. Steve Walters, managing director of Britech, participated in a trade fair and has been working closely with the Trade Partners UK team at the British High Commission in Dhaka, which helped the company win the contract.

"We are now negotiating with several new clients and expecting more business in the region," commented Mr Walters. "99% of our machines are exported overseas. We've already built a successful base in India and the surrounding region, so had been targetting Bangladesh for some time. The ceramics industry out there has great potential for development and it looks like we'll now be able to capitalise on the opportunity that exists. This is good news for everybody.

"Trade Partners UK's teams have helped us break into markets such as China, Ecuador, Bulgaria and Turkey so we had no hesitation in using them again. Both the Bangladesh team and our distributor are working energetically on our behalf and their commitment is tangible. They are known by all the key business leaders."

Under this newly announced contract, Britech will provide technical support and supply equipment to Dhaka. The Britech group designs, manufactures and installs equipment and also provides project management to ceramic companies around the world. In the future, the company plans to pursue opportunities in Turkey and in South America.
