AzoM.com - The A to Z of Materials Launched Online

AzoM.com Pty Ltd (Sydney, Australia) has just announced the official launch of an online materials encyclopaedia, backed by major international materials institutes and trade organisations.

The website offers free access to a wide range of materials information, including metals, ceramics, polymers, composites and coatings and has been designed specifically to suit the requirements of designers, engineers and other materials users.

Dr Ian Birkby, ex-Dynamic Ceramic and founder and CEO of AZoM believes the helpful search tools available on AZoM make the new site unique. "To the best of our knowledge, AZoM is the only materials related site that combines a free access materials encyclopaedia with multi-axis search capabilities, materials property data and a supplier/expert network," said Ian.

AZoM is the result of over two years' development work and currently contains over 4,000 pages of information, materials properties and data, drawn largely from the three main partners of the project, these being the Institute of Materials, CERAM Research Ltd and RAPRA Technology. "All the partners have been incredibly helpful in providing a huge amount of content and advice," says Ian Birkby.
