Arwana to Boost Ceramics Production Capacity 28%
PT Arwana Citramulia, one of Indonesia’s largest producers of ceramic building materials, said it was planning to increase production capacity 28% by 2010 to 39 million square metres from 30.5 million square metres of material scheduled for this year.“The expansion will be spread out over the course of two years and will entail developing the company’s third plant in Gresik, East Java,” said Arwana’s President, Tandean Rustandy.
In the first half of this year, the company booked Rp 305 billion ($30.2 million) in sales, a 4% drop from the Rp 319 billion it earned in the year-earlier period. Sales increased 28% to Rp 647 billion in 2008.
