British Company Takes Stake in Czech Engineering Concern

Arkon Flow Systems - a division of the British based RTM Group Ltd - has acquired a 12% stake in ELA spol. s.r.o. (Brno, Czech Republic), a manufacturer of high quality electromagnetic flowmeters. RTM itself manufactures a wide range of precision measuring and metering systems, industrial and laboratory furnaces, and specialist steels. Saab-BAE Systems Gripen in the Czech Republic provided ELA with assistance and guidance on local procedures, banking arrangements and business contacts to facilitate this deal. As a direct result of this new investment, the ELA range of flowmeters - already exported to Poland and Slovakia - will be introduced and marketed in both the UK and other EU countries. David Bennion, a Director of RTM Group and Marketing Director of Arkon, said: "To date, we have exchanged technologies and information with ELA with regard to modifying their products to suit European Union requirements. The next stage will be for ELA to move into new premises and then to get their excellent range of products into the EU."
