CBT Helps Keep Building Innovation Smart at 100% Detail
Playing host to The Smarthouse on stand H32 at 100% Detail will give experts at CERAM Building Technology (CBT) the opportunity to underline their commitment to ensuring that specifiers and designers are presented with not just innovative, but safe and compliant building and construction products.
CBT has, for the past fifty years, been offering independent advice, R&D, consultancy, testing, training and market led research. Its expertise includes; full scale load testing of structures, rain penetration, frost resistance and acoustics.
CBT has also been at the cutting edge of developing new products and materials, for example CBT has produced the definitive Design Guide for Traditional Plus – a Single Leaf construction for one and two storey buildings. It provides guidance to designers and contractors on the way insulated masonry can be used effectively and safely to form the structural shell of a house or bungalow.
CBT are hailing the guide as a milestone in the development of a walling system and it builds upon earlier work, which has been supplemented by further research and the construction of a Demonstration House.
CBT also has a testing service which helps companies comply with various aspects of building regulations, Codes of Practice, Health and Safety requirements or achieve certification. For example CBT has a specialist testing facility to help designers, builders and building product manufacturers ensure their products and developments meet the stringent Part E acoustic requirements of the Building Regulations.
CBT his also a major contributor to the development of British and European test methods and has extensive UKAS accreditation. Whether the components are for use in concrete, timber, masonry or steel, they can be assessed at their development stage, or for full standard compliance.
It has an impressive pedigree of being involved in prestigious projects including; Portcullis House, The Royal Historic Dockyards, La Poste, Marseille, The Kelvingrove Art Gallery, The Round Foundry, Leeds, St Pancras Station and the Victorian Viaducts at Waterloo.
