Viglacera's New Plants Pass Final Tests

Over the past few weeks, the two new complete plants constructed for
Viglacera in Vietnam - for the production of extruded 'cotto' tiles - have
been successfully tested.

One of the plants is located in the splendid bay of Ha-Long in the north of
the country, while its twin is in the industrial suburb of Ho Chi Minh City
in the south.

Each line is capable of producing 3,000 square metres of tiles per day,
ranging in size from 200mm x 200mm to 500mm to 500mm and in thickness from
8mm to 14mm (with no limits on technical specifications). To complement
standard output, both lines can also produce a vast range of trims such as
step-treads, skirting, corner inlays and strip tiles.

Supplier Sacmi says that the extreme user-friendliness and flexibility of
the new lines has led the two companies to accelerate their plans to double
output and proceed with the purchase of the new lines ahead of the Viglacera
Group's original schedule. The machines will now be shipped at the end of
April 2003.
