TPL Appoints Umicore as Worldwide Sales Agent

TPL Inc (Albuquerque, NM, USA) - a leading producer of .05 and .3 nano-sized barium and strontium ceramic powders - has recently signed a world-wide agency and distribution agreement with Umicore Marketing Services (Brussels, Belgium).

Umicore Marketing Services, a member of the Umicore Group (formerly known as Union Miniere), will work through its local offices which are situated in 28 different countries.

"TPL Inc is very happy to have Umicore Marketing Services add us to their portfolio of products," said TPL's Sales and Marketing Manager Paul Zamprelli. "We believe that with the addition of our ceramic powders, customers can achieve a full service supply for all raw materials in the electronic markets, globally, via Umicore Marketing Services."

The TPL crystalline, nano-sized ceramic powders have uniform near-spherical morphology. Creating a higher surface area and high dielectric constant, they enable sintering temperatures as low as 1100°C.

Applications for these small titanate powders include: dielectric material in multilayer ceramic capacitors or wound capacitors; insulator rings for high power surge arrestors; or as materials in speciality ceramic products. These materials are also used as thermal additives for products that are trying to achieve a higher heat rating. TPL Inc also produces dielectric polymers and epoxies.
