Turkish Giant Vitra Boosts Output

The Bozuyuk plant of leading Turkish ceramic sanitaryware manufacturer Vitra has been extended to raise output capacity by 1 million pieces per year.

Just 230 days were taken to complete the plant extension at Vitra - one of the world's top six sanitaryware producers. The Sacmi Group (Imola, BO,
Italy) played a key role in this expansion, which has raised output in Bozuyuk by 1 million pieces a year.

More specifically, Sacmi supplied Turkey's major sanitaryware producer with a fibre-lined TW tunnel kiln with 12-hour firing cycles, a fibre-lined SSK shuttle kiln in which temperature is homogenised to within a tolerance of just five degrees Celsius and five Gaiotto GA2000 glazing robots featuring the Mass control system to optimise glaze application.

This increase in output capacity - which now reaches 6.2 million pieces per year - was needed to respond to growing internal demand, which has increased significantly over the last two years. Vitra, moreover, exports 80% of its output, mainly to Germany, the UK, Italy, France and the USA.
