Siam Refractory Wins Thailand Quality Prize 2008
Mr Somkeat Suebthawilkul, Quality Assurance Manager of The Siam Refractory Industry Co Ltd (Siam Cement Group), together with the members of ‘Sam Leam Thong Kam’ Quality Control Circle, received the Golden QC Prize (Service Category) from Professor Dr Noriaki Kano, a world-renowned expert in Total Quality Management (TQM).
The team was awarded the prize for having successfully reduced the porosity testing time through the implementation of QCC Concept. The award was presented in the Thailand Quality Prize 2008 Ceremony being held by the Technology Promotion Association (Thailand-Japan) and reflects Siam Refractory’s great accomplishment in introducing quality control methods to its front-line employees.
Siam Refractory, the largest refractory manufacturer in South-East Asia, said it had been supplying world-class refractory products and services under the commitment to offer the best value to customers. The company added that it had been the world’s first refractory manufacturer to be awarded the prestigious Deming Prize for its outstanding business performance and success on TQM.
