Seramiksan Renews Presses and Dryers for Single-Fire Floor Tile Production

Seramiksan is based in Turgultu, around 45km from Izmir in Turkey and is a young company founded in 1994; yet one that has achieved an output capacity of 22 million square metres a year surprisingly quickly. Seramiksan has achieved this level having worked closely with Sacmi (Imola, BO, Italy) which supplied the company – in both 2003 and 2004 – with a substantial machine pool that includes a double-fire wall tile line with an output capacity of 9,000 square metres a day and a 28,800 square metres per day single-fire floor tile plant.

Seramiksan has over the past decade become one of the top five Turkish producers in this field and is expanding fast both domestically and internationally. After experiencing the advantages of past orders, Seramiksan has once again placed its trust in the quality of Sacmi-made machines, this time to renew a pressing and drying department in a plant that has three single-fire floor tile production lines.

This department – which flanks the glazed porcelain tile and wall tile double-fire production facility – will soon be able to rely on three new PH2890 presses and two EVA992 vertical dryers plus associated connection lines. The supply also includes two 84 metre-long FMS2400 kilns. Start-up is scheduled for this coming summer.

The floor tile production plants involved in this modernisation programme will produce classic formats ranging from 20cm x 20cm to 60cm x 60cm plus 33cm x 33cm and 45cm x 45cm tiles.
