Siam Cement Voted No 1 in Thailand for Second Year Running

Siam Cement, whose subsidiaries include significant ceramic companies in the region, was named Thailand's top company for the second consecutive year in The Asian Wall Street Journal 200 Survey, which polled the views of more than 3,000 top executives in the region.

In the 2004 annual survey conducted by The Asian Wall Street Journal, which sought to obtain the views of executives from some 600 multinational and local companies across the Asia Pacific Region, Siam Cement was voted Thailand's top company for financial soundness. The company was also recognised for its "good company reputation" and "quality of products and services".

The survey results were based on five attributes: company reputation such as good corporate governance, social and environmental policies, quality of products and services, management's long-term vision, innovation in responding to customer needs, and financial soundness.

Siam Cement has now conducted business in Thailand for more than 90 years and, with its subsidiaries, recorded total sales in 2004 of 192.395 billion baht.
