Royal Crown Derby Announces Senior Appointments

Royal Crown Derby (Derby, England) has made two important new appointments
to the senior management team. John Poyser will take on the position of
Director of Operations and Peter Allen becomes the new Director of Product
Development.

Restructuring of the senior management team became necessary following the
news of the early retirement of Factory Chief Executive, Kevin Reynolds.
The company said that Kevin had completed 37 years of distinguished service,
both under the ownership of Royal Doulton and then latterly as a Director
and Main Board member following Royal Crown Derby's independence.

John Poyser joined Royal Crown Derby as Logistics Manager in September 2000
from a background in sanitaryware. John's increased responsibilities now
include production, warehousing, dispatch and logistics. He continues as a
member of the Executive Board.

Director of Product Development is a new position within the company. Peter
Allen brings a wealth of experience to this combined technical and creative
role. A Royal Doulton employee for almost 20 years, Peter headed shape
design and development for well known brands within the group. Designs for
Minton, Royal Albert - and Royal Crown Derby prior to independence - all
passed through Peter's hands. After leaving Royal Doulton, Peter was
employed by the independent Royal Crown Derby in September 2001.

Royal Crown Derby now employs around 300 staff at the Derby based factory
and enjoys a turnover of around £10 million. The company has met with
considerable success in the giftware market; in particular the paperweight
and miniature teddy bear ranges grow increasingly collectable.

Tableware continues to be an important element of the company's plans
including the export expansion programme. Product is being developed
specifically for the healthy bridal market in the USA. These new tableware
patterns will be distributed through a dedicated USA office, which opened
just 12 months ago.
