QUALICER 2004 Convened
The Castellón Official Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation has
convened the eighth QUALICER Congress, which is to take place in Castellón
from 7-10 March 2004. At this meeting, besides the traditional content
directed towards researchers, manufacturers of ceramic tiles, machinery,
glazes, ceramic colours, adhesives, raw materials, suppliers, distributors,
tile fixers, architects, building supervisors and designers, there will be a
special focus on issues of interest to company directors.A call for papers has gone out and both papers and posters will be included
in one of two sections in the congress:Manufacturing
* Raw materials and semi-processed product for bodies and surface treatments, as well as their preparation.
* Industrial processes, equipment and facilities.
* Technological product innovations. Standardisation; ISO standards 9000 and 14000. Testing and quality certification. Sorting. Technicalmarketing.
* Packaging, transport and distribution.
* Production management.
* Total, step-wise production process quality management.
* Environment.
Use* Finished products and their specific uses.
* Industrial ceramic design. Formal innovation in ceramic wall and floor tile.
* Using ceramic tile in architecture and interior decoration. Ceramics in the habitat.
* Exterior tiling. Special applications.
* Ceramics and the architectural heritage. Renovation.
* Tile fixing technology, materials and design. Quality controls on tiled backgrounds.
* Preventing and diagnosing installation pathologies. Quality controls on tiled backgrounds.
* Prefabricated materials.
The QUALICER Technical Committee will make a preliminary selection of the
communications based on the submitted summaries. Authors will be informed
in July 2003 regarding the initial acceptance of their work, together with
any relevant remarks. Authors will also receive instructions for the
presentation of the complete work.The Technical Committee will perform the second, definitive selection in
November 2003, based on the complete work.Submitted work must be unpublished and any commercial references - should
they be absolutely necessary - must be kept to a minimum.500-word summaries need to submitted by 27 June 2003 and the complete work
