Conference on Porous Ceramic Materials

Both scientific research as well as technological development has resulted in novel porous ceramic materials through new synthesis routes, improved processing, better characterisation and modelling. By tailoring properties like pore structure and pore size, porous ceramics are considered for use in a vast range of applications.

The International Conference on Porous Ceramic Materials (PCM2005), organised by the Flemish Institute for Technological Research (Vito), addresses the latest advances in the field of ceramic foams and membranes. Persons interested from industry as well as from the academic world are invited to join the conference in order to receive an updated survey of current scientific and technological issues regarding the manufacturing, testing, modelling and applications of ceramic membranes, foams and other porous materials.

The conference will take place in Oud Sint-Jan, Brugge, Belgium from 20-21 October 2005 and is organised by Vito under the auspices of the Belgian Ceramic Society and the European Ceramic Society. It will include invited lectures and contributed papers presented in both oral and poster formats.

Further details from: Mrs Greet Meynen, Conference Secretary, Vito, Boeretang 200, 2400 Mol, Belgium. Tel: +32 14 33 56 07
