Polish Ceramic Achievements to be Covered in May Event

The International Conference 'Polish Ceramics' will take place at the Olympic Training Centre in Opoczno-Spala from 20-22 May 2002. Presentations will cover the achievements and promotion potential of the Polish ceramic industry - including tiles, sanitaryware, tableware, technical ceramics etc - in the context of the world-wide research in ceramics. The emphasis will also lie on the integration of industrial and research communities in ceramics.

The lectures during the plenary session will be given by well known international speakers: Prof Jean Bonnet (France); Prof David Green (USA); Prof Vladimir Shevchenko (Russia); and Prof Arnaldo Moreno Berto (Spain).

The conference will comprise both oral presentations and poster sessions and a proceedings volume will be published. The main conference topics have been set under five main headings:

• Raw Materials and Powders
• Ceramic Processing
• Theory and Practice of Sintering
• Characteristic and Application of Ceramic Products
• Ceramic Products in Building Engineering
