Morin Brick Back In Production

The future looks brighter for Morin Brick (Auburn, ME, USA) after the recent announcement of its acquisition by RJ Finlay. The company said:

“It is with great pleasure and excitement for the future that we announce Morin Brick is secure, reinvigorated and ready to start producing thanks to our complete recapitalisation plan and majority acquisition by R.J. Finlay & Co, a national real estate firm with development, asset management, construction and construction materials divisions. This investment ensures our long-term financial stability and allows us to immediately put more than 40 people back to work. It also means we can provide you with the type of outstanding quality and customer service that have built Morin Brick into the industry standard since 1912.

“While Morin’s ownership is indeed new, our experienced management team and top-notch production staff will remain in place, alongside a renewed commitment to our customers and suppliers to develop the best new products on the market. We will also continue to proudly produce the same iconic lines – from Waterstruck to Old Port and Royal River – that have for decades been the backbone and beautiful face of many of the region’s most striking buildings. It is with pride that Morin Brick sets its sights on another century of excellence!”

Founded in 1912, Morin Brick began by making waterstruck brick primarily for its local Lewiston-Auburn, Maine market. Over the decades, upgrades to its manufacturing facilities have supported the company’s commitment to providing the highest quality bricks to customers in the north-eastern United States and Canada.

The Auburn plant manufactures both moulded waterstruck brick traditional to the north-east and a variety of extruded brick. The company’s rich red firing clays and wide-based manufacturing technology allows it to continue to challenge its brickmaking skills by providing brick to some of the most architecturally significant projects.
