Massive Increase Forecast for Iran's Ceramic Tile Output
Tehran based Mehr News Agency reports that due to the establishment of new ceramic tile production facilities in Iran, the overall production capacity of the country in this area of the industry is now projected to increase massively - from the current 120 million sq.m. per year to 200 million sq.m. per year by the end of the next Iranian calendar year 1383 (20 March 2004 to 20 March 2005).
The head of Iran's Tile & Ceramic Producers Association told Mehr that 95 million sq.m. of ceramic tile were produced in the previous period, Iranian calendar year 1381, and that production was on line to have hit 120 million sq.m. by the end of the just completed Iranian calendar year 1382.
