Eclipse Acquires Assets of Laidlaw Drew

Eclipse has announced that it has acquired certain assets of Laidlaw Drew Ltd, headquartered in Livingston, Scotland. Laidlaw Drew has been a supplier of burners and complete combustion systems to the glass, metallurgical and process heating industries worldwide.

This move follows the announcement that Blair Nimmo and Gary Fraser had been appointed as joint administrators of LD Holdings Ltd and its subsidiary company Laidlaw Drew Ltd on 14 March 2006. On 1 April 2006, Eclipse Inc purchased LD’s intellectual property including their name, engineering drawings, programs, customer lists, as well as certain plant equipment and their remaining inventory.

Eclipse said that over time it would incorporate selected LD products into its catalogue. These products will be tested to ensure that complete technical documentation and support is available. Eclipse will announce the new Eclipse versions of these products as they are launched for sale.

Eclipse said it will be working with former LD customers in an attempt to fulfil their needs. Through a disciplined integration plan, it will endeavour to have selected products available as soon as practical and support spare parts requirements for LD equipment sold previously. In the meantime, Eclipse will quote solutions for these customers using its currently offered equipment, pricing, terms and lead-times. Eclipse said it would not be responsible to supply or support these customers based on any original contract or support agreements they may have had with LD.
